about the project

Dango Digital Website

Dango is a Shopify Premier Partner agency that designs, builds, and optimizes e-commerce stores for growing brands. Their existing website was solid but starting to feel dated — it didn't fully reflect the confidence and quality of the work they were doing for clients. I was brought in to redesign it from the ground up: modern and distinctive, but never aggressive. The goal was a clean, mobile-first design system that could work across the website and scale easily into their landing pages.

Challenge

A website that undersold the agency behind it

The old website worked well but lacked the visual sharpness and energy Dango's reputation deserved. The new design needed to feel up-to-date and tech-forward while staying approachable, clear enough to communicate quickly, and flexible enough to reuse across different pages and campaigns.

Solution

An evolved identity, built to scale

After exploring multiple color systems close to the existing website, Dango landed on black and purple, bright and attractive, professional and tech-forward, but never aggressive. The design was built mobile-first with a modular structure that makes it easy to adapt sections into landing pages.

Key Design Decisions

A color system that evolved from what they had

The dark background with purple and magenta accents creates an identity that feels tech-forward and premium without being cold. The gradient is used as an accent, not wallpaper, so it reads as intentional rather than decorative.

Mobile-first design

Every layout decision was made for mobile first and scaled up to desktop. This kept the design clean and hierarchy-driven at every breakpoint without needing to compromise at smaller sizes.

Modular and reusable

Sections were designed to work as standalone blocks so the Dango team could repurpose them for landing pages without redesigning from scratch each time.

Not cluttered, not empty

The balance between content and whitespace was deliberate throughout. Every section earns its place — the design communicates quickly without overwhelming the visitor.

Outcome

The redesigned Dango website presents the agency as what it actually is — a confident, capable partner for brands ready to grow. The black and purple identity is distinctive without being aggressive, the mobile-first structure keeps the experience clear at every screen size, and the modular design system gives the team flexibility long after launch.
